Why Learn from Passion2Plant?

At Passion2Plant, we believe ministry must evolve to meet the needs of today’s world and we’ve been faithfully exploring new ways to do that from the beginning.

Our founder, Rev. Dr. Liz Rios, has spent decades in ministry: working with youth, leading urban churches, mentoring women, and navigating the complex realities of church leadership. Her journey has consistently taken her into uncharted territory, not for the sake of being different, but because the Spirit was calling her to respond to real needs in real time.

Whether it was launching new ministry models in NYC or now equipping digital preachers and justice-oriented planters, she has always been about meeting people where they are and preparing leaders for what’s next. So we’re not just here to pass on information, we’re here to cultivate transformation.

Justice Is Not Optional—It’s Biblical

One of the things that makes us different is that we don’t treat justice as a side note. We believe that justice is central to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s not a partisan buzzword or a trend to follow, it’s the biblical mandate that runs from the prophets to Jesus Himself.

Justice should not be a trigger word for Jesus followers.
It is written into the DNA of our faith:
“Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly.” (Micah 6:8)
“Proclaim good news to the poor… set the oppressed free.” (Luke 4:18)
“Let justice roll down like waters.” (Amos 5:24)

Yet, too many church planting networks feel the need to downplay justice to fit in with the dominant culture or secure donor comfort. Not here. We don’t hide our convictions. We equip and empower leaders to plant churches with a Jesus and justice DNA—Spirit-led, Scripture-rooted, and mission-driven to pursue liberation and the flourishing of all people.

Rooted in the Margins, Leading Toward the Future

Our faculty is hand-selected by Dr. Liz and includes gifted educators who are not only great teachers but also respected scholars and seasoned practitioners. The majority are BIPOC, because we know those who’ve long led from the margins bring a wisdom, resilience, and clarity that the Church desperately needs right now. We also welcome trusted allies, leaders who embody equity and understand the cost of prophetic discipleship.

So if you’re looking for a place to grow, experiment, and learn to lead with integrity and imagination, if you feel called to build communities that reflect both the compassion and courage of Christ, we’d be honored to walk alongside you.

The world needs a different kind of Church. Let’s plant it together.
