Just Church Cohort (JCC)

JCC is the signature training program that started it all for P2P. This cohort is perfect for men and women who are discerning a call to church planting and are preparing to be the lead church planter/pastor. This is also a great learning experience for key influencers in a church plant team or ministers who want to work in and through their community with a justice lens and deep biblical understanding of justice.

This cohort becomes a safe space for BIPOC and select Allies to learn from global majority voices about developing a holistic, justice-oriented philosophy of ministry for church planting or for church redirection. The cohort meets online and runs for from February to June. Our next cohort begins August 28, 2024.

Take a look at our amazing faculty and just some of the topics we will cover:

  • Developing a Holistic, Civically Engaged Justice-Oriented Church

  • Trauma Informed Leadership

  • Embodied Hope: A Theology of Pain & Suffering

  • A Place for Women: A Biblical Defense of Egalitarianism

  • And much, much more!

The value of this course is $1500. However with the support of donors, we are able to offer this for an investment of $600.

Installment payment plan is available as well. Limited Scholarships are available, especially for women planters.

Trauma Informed Leaders Cohort

Our newest cohort offering is Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) which is now the expectation in ministry at all levels. Across the country, there is a growing movement to create "trauma-informed" services, organizations and communities. This movement reflects an understanding that psychological trauma and toxic stress are near-universal experiences that can affect every aspect of life, and that everyone has a role to play in addressing the issue.

According to national experts convened by SAMHSA, trauma results from events or circumstances that are experienced by an individual as harmful or life threatening and that have lasting adverse effects on mental, physical, social, emotional or spiritual well-being.

While many individuals experience traumatic events without lasting harm, trauma can place a heavy burden on individuals, families and communities. Trauma-informed supports can help. The church needs to be ready.

Being trauma-informed means:

  • Realizing how trauma affects people;

  • Recognizing the signs;

  • Responding by changing practices; and

  • Resisting re-traumatization by addressing trauma and toxic stress in the lives of both staff and people served.TIC recognizes that traumatic experiences terrify, overwhelm, and violate the individual. Trauma informed care is a commitment not to repeat these experiences and, in whatever way possible, to restore a sense of safety, power, and self-worth.

P2P offers this training program for church leaders at all levels and P2P Alumni. In this four month cohort, participants are guided through four components of trauma informed care for faith communities. Launching Weds, Jan 15, 2025 and will end March 5. We need a minimum of seven (7) participants for the cohort to launch.
