Samuel Rios was born in NYC and raised in South Florida. He presently serves as Operations Assistant for Passion2Plant but he's so much more than that. As a Gen Z, Sam challenges the organization to think about this emerging generation and the topics they care about and how they relate (or not) to the way faith communities address them. His work at Passion2Plant aside from having a hand in operations and media technology is to research trends on the Gen Z community, religion and society.
He is a cum laude graduate of Southeastern University where he majored in Psychology and minored in Religion. He is fascinated with psychology, faith and science. As a pew baby, Sam has always been around church spaces and has served as a key board player on many worship teams. He's been a big part of every church his parents pastored and has seen church planting from the PK side.
Essentially, Sam is into facts, and faith communities that respect them. At the age of 8 while watching T.D. Jakes with his mom, he turned to her and said while crying, "God is telling me to preach," since that time he's seen many things that like most in his generation has left him saddened with the state of the church, but instead of opting out, he is opting in and will work with P2P to see and share a new way forward for the Church and his generation. An avid reader and thinker, he is presently discerning pursuing graduate education.
